Wow…You have a wonderful blog here.
My two cents… I am thinking of this idea called city-norms. I think the city during this decade was still predominated by the Tagalog-speaking Filipinos who had their own idea and attitude towards their city. Since the agricultural countrysides had been gradually abandoned for lack of development, the non-Tagalog speakers gradually migrated to the city starting this process of urban migration. The introduction of sub-culture from other ethnic groups created alienation. It introduced a new set of norms and behavior not usually belonging to the original people of the city. Along with the process comes squatting, unemployment, ethnic-animosities and so on. I think the process still continues up to present creating this city of contrast and decadence…Of course I might be wrong.

My heart longs for those days I never saw–I was born during the 70′s,when Manila was beginning to get too crowded. Those beautiful buildings–and clean streets,devoid of grime,street urchins and pollution–you truly must be very proud to be a Manilan during tose days. If I can travel back in time,I’d pick the 1950′s to the 1960′s so I could stroll in Manila’s lovely streets.

there is one thing i hate about these events. Its about the so called “mediamen” or should i say “pretending to be mediamen”. those people who pretends to be working in the media, whether tv, radio or internet whatever and gets all the perks, the benefits and the privileges of entering the vip area and they just get away with it….when the reality is they just took advantage of taking pictures to achieve their personal sexual gratification…at least they should show some respect to those non-vip people who worked their way on coming to events like these….god, i really hate the filipino media….

I feel so devastated by the wrath he brought to our fellow Filipinos. Up to now many are still suffering from floods, though the result is not comparable to Ondoy’s but that’s not our concern, as much as possible we want ZERO casualties and ZERO damage.
