Turn Websites Into An Oil Spill

The gulf oil spill issue that happened a few months ago have been a big and serious media topic. It has lots of bad effects not just in sea but on wildlife as well. After a few weeks of having the big hype on the news about this, many of us don’t have interest on it now.

People are trying to find ways to raise the awareness of the issue and by that, some creative folks at A Cleaner Future did a pretty cool application that lets you create an oil spill on any webpage that you want. A Cleaner Future is a collaboration between Mark & Phil and Greener Media that seeks to raise awareness about clean energy. They are the one who created this cool website. 🙂

You can visit www.instantoilspill.com and input the website that you want to create an oil spill (Check out my page being oiled above). After being totally spilled with oil, an inspirational quote will appear. This is what I got: “We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.” – Native American Proverb Aside from this cool app, there other awareness brought into the internet world that can help to tell people the things that we need to do to have a better place to live in.
