The Wrath of Typhoon Sendong

Tropical Storm Sendong or known by it’s international name Tropical Storm Washi has left the Philippines a trail of destruction and deaths, death toll at the moment reached 900 while 600 others remained missing after the flash floods and landslides that hit Northern part of Mindanao last Saturday particularly Cagayan De Oro and Iligan City.

Reports said that Tropical Storm Sendong dumped 50mm of rain per hour in early morning of December 17, 2011 during the time when everybody in the affected areas were asleep. Most of the people there woke up to rising flood water and has a very little time to evacuate.

I know how it feels like to encounter such flood because I encountered that during the Typhoon Ondoy days. It’s a very hard and tough situation and Sendong is much worst and stronger than Ondoy. People there in Mindanao today doesn’t have enough food, water, clothes and shelter. And if there is anything we can do to help them out, LET’S DO IT! 🙂
