Back From Somewhere

It’s been a while since I last updated this blog. I went for a vacation in Hong Kong last month and it was a really fun experience. I actually got jealous on how their country run… the government, transportation, tourism and everything. I wish we have that kind of system back home. I sometimes imagine how will the Philippines look like if we have a better government system as well as transportation. If they will implement a good system of transportation in the country, that can help minimize the traffic problem. If government officials were all honest and straight, imagine the budget that the government have. It will not be getting into their own pockets anymore. And if all those things are set right up, boom! Tourism. :) I hope I have a point. Anyway, I hope to update this blog more often again. Thanks for dropping by!

Here’s a video of HK Disneyland’s “Disney in the Stars”. Sorry about the shaking. Forgot to bring a tripod.

The Avengers Theatrical Trailer

So I stumbled upon this The Avengers Theatrical Trailer this morning and I thought I’d share it here. Looks pretty impressive in my own point of view. :) But yeah, the other 2 original Avengers from the comics namely Ant-man and Wasp are not there. Fine with that. I wanna see more of Scarlett in this movie. I thought I won’t see The Hulk until he showed on the last part. If I see it correct, Mark Ruffalo will play The Hulk which in my own perspective doesn’t suit well… Edward Norton fits better. Anyway, Robert Downey Jr is freaking awesome! Check it out!

Can’t wait for 2012! :)

The World Is Just Awesome

I remember back in 2008 when Discovery Channel released their first ad campaign of their theme “The World Is Just Awesome” featuring a chorus of the song Boom-De-Ah-Da. It just hit me back when I saw a thread that I posted in a forum back in 2008 sharing this video. And so I searched for the newest version. Check it out below! The Transformers part is just awesome!

I Love The World! :D

Even though the Hitler reaction video is old, it still hits the joke. :) Hitler discovered that Apple’s releasing the iPhone 4S after waiting for months that it would be the iPhone 5. Check it out. lol

Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple and industry icon for decades just passed away. His technology and innovation will never be forgotten. RIP Steve!

Here is the statement from Apple:

We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today.

His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.

RIP Steve Jobs

So Apple officially announced the iPhone today and called it – the iPhone 4S. I’m sure all the Apple fans around the world will definitely try to upgrade their iPhone 4 to this new and so far “the most amazing iPhone ever”. What do you think makes it better than the iPhone 4 or is it really worth the upgrade? Check out the specs!

iPhone 4S

Apple iPhone 4S specs:

As for the pricing, $199 for the 16GB, $299 for the 32GB and $399 for the 64GB — all comes with a 24-month contract with your carrier. Not sure when will it be officially released here in the Philippines but will most likely be around last week of October or worst 1st week of November. I think it will be within the price range of iPhone 4 when it was released here in the Philippines a few years back.

Specs looks awesome! :)

The Wrath of Typhoon Pedring

Reports said that at least seven were killed and thousands of families were affected as Typhoon Pedring/Nesat whipped through several provinces and cities in the Philippines on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011.

From Y! Ph:

Most deaths occurred in metropolitan Manila, which already was soaked by heavy monsoon rains ahead of Typhoon Nesat’s arrival with more downpours and wind gusts of up to 93 mph (150 kph). Downtown areas along Manila Bay suffered their worst flooding in decades.

Typhoon Nesat hit ashore before dawn Tuesday in eastern provinces and headed inland just north of Manila with up to an inch of rain per hour, half that of the storm two years ago, said government forecaster Samuel Duran.

People all over the Northern Philippines are worried that this could be the next Ondoy that hit the Philippines two years ago. At first, I didn’t know that the Marikina River is already on the third warning alarm and hit the critical level yesterday afternoon until a friend called me. I can’t turn on the TV to hear the news because our electricity at home turns on and off.

Marikina river reached a maximum of 19.5m of water last night which makes the Marikina government order a forced evacuation for the people who lives near the area. The water reached beyond the critical level which is 18 meters but around past 10pm, the water level dropped to 18.6m according to a friend who lives near the area. Good thing the rain didn’t continue to tear down the city.

More photos after the jump.

Remembering Tupac Shakur

Yesterday, September 13, 2011 marks the 15th anniversary of the death of Tupac Amaru Shakur from gunshot wounds after being shot multiple times on September 7, 1996 in Las Vegas after watching the Mike Tyson-Bruce Seldon boxing fight at the MGM Grand. It wasn’t the first time that Tupac came under fire. On November 30, 1994, Shakur was shot five times and, like a mythical urban superhero, checked himself out of the hospital against the doctor’s orders, living to tell his tales through rap. I remember this from the song “Hit ‘Em Up,” where he cursed and tell shits about who shot him and wants him dead.

I remember back in high school when I first heard Tupac Shakur songs that I instantly became a fan of his music and poetry. The lyrics is not just about something trashy just like the few ones we here today (not in general). Whether you admit it or not, some rap songs today doesn’t even ring a bell. Tupac Shakur’s lyrics and music is something that can struck your mind and heart that what’s written in there is not just simple words built together to put up a hit song but words that shows what the real society is all about. I cannot forget the song “Changes” where Tupac mentioned that the society that we are living in doesn’t even make any changes for us to live better and that we are not ready to see a black president. If he is living now, I’m sure he will be very happy seeing President Obama sitting in the White House.

Some of my favorite Tupac Shakur songs includes: Changes, Unconditional Love, Dear Mama, Hail Mary, California Love, Life Goes On, Me Against The World, Thugz Mansion, I Ain’t Mad At You and many other tracks.

“We gotta make a change. It’s time for us as a people to start makin’ some changes. Let’s change the way we eat, let’s change the way we live, and let’s change the way we treat each other. You see the old way wasn’t working so it’s on us to do
what we gotta do, to survive.” – Changes, Tupac Shakur
